"THE LONGEST NIGHT"

sitting with a pen in hand i started to write with a thought in mind "how should i describe what is happening to me?? what is inside me? what is wrong ? why ain't i smiling ? why ain't i crying? what is the matter?? is it guilt? is it confusion?? is it a masked happiness?? why cant i figure out?? "
i am trying hard to find this out since 22:00. and finally while writing this there is a click in my mind that its confused happiness with blurred guilt and 3 tea spoons of helplessness 3 full bloody spoons!!!
it is called helplessness caused due to restriction & communication-gap
i have been feeling uneasy since her last few sms's and six calls which i missed
i am extremely selfish....................

the day began fresh and was slightly out of schedule when teddy got started for his well planned Sunday . teddy basically thinks that sundays are meant for fun,leisure and loads of sleep...but.. things seem to be changing after he met DOLLY....he planned for the whole day and decided to work and is making this day a productive working day....

DOLLY is a young chubby beautiful girl.dolly is gifted with an amazing smile, attractive cheeks adorned with her easily visible cheek bones which makes her smile even more attractive ...she has one more thing which drives teddy crazy..
her eyes!!!!!!! dolly helps teddy with his mathematics.....

teddy and dolly belong to the same age group,hence they get along very well. teddy is a kind of student who doesn't reveal his weaknesses easily until he is not familiar to the person.but teddy easily accepts his weaknesses in front of dolly and waits for his favorite teacher to rectify him.

dolly is very patent unlike Teddy's other teachers who take swift drives at the books just to complete the syllabus as soon as possible. they are professionals and they cant or rather its impossible for them to attend each and every student- on a bench of 4 students-30 such benches in a class-8 such batches-in 10 different areas of a crowded city like mumbai going on non stop

hence when teddy realized that a below average student like him cant cope-up or gain anything from these professional coaching classes ..he decided to study on his own.
he left the coaching classes after semester 1 . he told his parents about this and assured them that if he will face any problem in his subjects he'll clear it with the help of his friends and his elder brothers ...parents agreed
teddy took his decision but.. that was the last time he was serious about it . he was never working for it...days passed by doing nothing .the time was already passing swiftly and he should've already started studying...he had to study 11 subjects ..when it was too late he found no way out to solve this rubix cube with 12 blocks 11 subjects+1 his mind

suddenly dolly came in his life, counseled him nicely and they decided to work it out and give their best the major problem is mathematics ....confidence is the only key ....dolly took the responsibility of maths ..

22 days were left for the examination
both of them sat for hour sand prepared thoroughly..off course the time left was very less but they tried their best
results were negative teddy cleared just 3 out of 12 papers at the end of the year.
dolly broke down as she felt she failed in what she promised teddy ...he couldn't clear maths 1
but teddy, even today is thankful to her that she threatened the fear of maths in teddy's mind./.....and now there was no fear of maths

they gave it one more try and they are still trying.. dolly had a hectic schedule with her college as well as projects etc. still she manages to give nine hours a week to teddy for his subjects .. they are good friends now... they hang out together after the study hours they share their problems with each other family problems etc. both are immensely concerned about each other

as the time passed teddy discovered that dolly is not happy in her personal life. she doesnt get proper space & freedom from her parents...she is taking all this since her childhood but now this is affecting her even more since she is a grown up girl now but still cant spend time with her friends, cant have fun with them.. every time she goes out with friends she doesnt inform her aprents and she is always worried that what will happen if her parent scome to know about all this ..she often told this to teddy that her parent are barrow minded and cant be molded

thing shave started bursting in teddy's mind and he was not able to see dolly in such an bad condition anymore.....he decided that he will take out her best friend out of all this and the only solution to this was that dolly talks to her parents openly about this.... he sits and discusses everything with her and takes a promise that today when she goes home she will have to talk to her parents because talking and sorting everything is the only solution she is scared but promises

on his way back home teddy is terribly tensed as to what is going to happen at dolly's place
his fingers are crossed he is praying for dolly
dolly calls him before entering her house

after an hour she calls him again "EVERYTHING IS FINE,DON'T WORRY"

thank you so much for your care and support

this relieved teddy ..the above phone call was made at 21:22:36
the next moment when he kept the phone , he switched his phone off and went for movie with his family.......

the show was off at 22:40 & that was the time when earth slipped away from under his legs

after the messages teddy's heart sank and he realized that his friend blindly trusted him after the words

..............................and where was i when she needed me???...so much that the repeated calls were made..i was enjoying a movie with my family like a trust broker bastard ..now her phone is switched off:( i cant call her to ask whats the matter exactly what happened?? cant even msg her to say sorry & to assure her again that i am there for her .....coz her narrow minded parents will object my msgs at such an odd time


the only thing i can do is

WAIT>........
till the time i meet her next


so i'll have to breathe these crucial hours by killing them anyhow....


i don't have any choice
the helplessness is just a punishment for my carelessness & ignorance

yesterday i was sitting in a CCD near my college..when i saw this coffee and suddenly i realized that love can be a very interesting topic to write about.......so here i am risking my story in continuation and switching to love for some time (there is nothing new in this, we all have seen people risking their lives for लव , मेरी तो सिर्फ एक स्टोरी है )

so here is chin2 with the disc in his hand...he is on his way home...

there is only one problem in such kind of discs
and that is the covers ....the covers used to attract the customers
though there is nothing in the movie what is portrayed on them...
"अरे यार पिक्चर बनाई तो बनाई ये कवर क्यों बनाया?? क्या करू मैं इसका?? कहाँ छुपाऊ ऐसे रस्ते पे फेक भी नहीं सकता ..कोई देख लेगा तो...."

this thought is generally there in minds of everybody who buys a blue film ...same was the case with chin2...
he just folds it inwards so that the blank side of the cover is visible and not the naughty one...

he is not leaving any proofs or evidences ..he places the disc inside his shirt placed in his pant and hides it...takes his bicycle and goes home
he is checking repeatedly whether the disc is visible or not

enters his house parks his bicycle and starts walking inside

generally this happens....whenever we know that we are doing something wrong ..we feel that everyone in this world is staring us ...
for example: during my examination if i have studied well and if i am prepared then i will just start writing...my head completely in my paper

but if i am not prepared and i completely depended on peeping in others' paper i have all the time to observe where the invigilator is what is he doing etc.

exactly the same was the case with chin2

all the way back home he felt eyes on him..hence he checked the buttons of his shirt..and visibility of the disc

chin2 enters the dining hall and..

"chinttttttttoooooooooo!!!!!!!!! kaahhaaan thaaa??? itna late kyu hua?????"

tremendously scared he just climbed the staircase leading to his bed room 4stairs at a time and just locked the door from inside..he is sweating badly...

typical mom chin2's mom mamta.....a strict but loving mom

she reads minds she was a scholar in reading body languages and eyes in her college among her friends

for chin2 he knows that he is screwed the banging of door,sweating of his skin both are on..simultaneously.....


and above all chin2 wants to go to the toilet...pressure is really high he just regrets eating साहू ची भेल outside his school

SLAPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this sound 0n ear drum and heat on cheek made chin2 feel something for the first time in his life...
he felt " काश ऐसा कुछ हो जाये की मैं अपनी लाइफ के पिछले दो दिन rewind करके उनको erase कर सकता ..."

ऐसा तो नहीं था की chin2 इससे पहले कभी कोई problem में नहीं फंसा ...फिर इस बार ऐसा क्या हुआ जो उसे इतनी बड़ी wish मांगनी पड़ी...............
आइये घडी को दो दिन पीछे ले चलें...........rewind<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< till now we have only seen the professional and extremely focused and then a fluctuated side of chin2 ...so we have forgotten the fact that he is in his teen age ...
lets take a small naughty peep in chin2's teenage life................


here i introduce you a new character SATISH, who plays a very important role in chin2's life n mischief
satish is chin2's first cousin and his childhood mate, he is always there by chin2's side when he is caught doing something which is not permitted....
satish is only 2months elder than chin2 .....both of them share an excellent bond ....
satish is basically राजा बेटा types, he wakes up early, goes to bed at 9 in the evening,drinks milk before he leaves for school,he gets scared when asked to do something beyond what he is taught since childhood..he is good in studies he oils his hair,wears trousers(above the waist) and no jeans,shirt with the collar buttoned etc etc

in short...EXACTLY OPPOSITE TO HOW CHIN2 IS
though satish is elder to chin2 but chin2 has always behaved as the elder brother and as expected from the above description satish always obeyed him and got dragged into problems

chin2 and satish both are 15 now only difference is satish has given and will surely pass and chin2 will be promoted to SSC(10th std) in the next academic year..

vacation time SUMMER HOLIDAYS....

empty mind is devil's workshop...is very well said

chin2's naughty devilish mind has popped in a very risky idea which he knows, somewhere in the corner -under his skull, will screw him real bad...but still mind conquers and defeats the brain....and finally the idea is executed

chin2: sssshhhhhh!!!!!!!!! चिल्लाओ मत अंकल please मुझे अच्छा नहीं लगता सब लोग देख रहे है ...मेरे पापा को पता चल जाये गा

chin2 picks up one of the displayed discs,pays 100rs and runs away

chin2 has the disc now ..he is just waiting for a proper plan

but the most important thing which he forgot is that though he acts bold and brave enough he will never take such a huge risk all alone..........he needs a partner


and partner in chin2's dictionary had only one meaning that is SATISH

luck by chance & destiny (phase 2)

after the dramatic end of chin2s sports career
(ps: after that accident his father threw away his wheels and chin2 was now restricted to run on them again)


so now,after the ups and downs in the seventh standard chin2 who missed many days of his school due to the accident also skipped the term exams and was far behind in studies
first time in his life he saw a red line in his report card.....but any how due to the excuse of the accident and his earlier record he was granted grace and was promoted to std 8th

in the earlier parts you might have made a perception about chin2 as how focused and dedicated he is what a winner and all,
now you will actually see how fluctuating he is....







lets come out of flashback and see whats happening in chin2s life currently....

std 8th
chin2 is now a member of NCC and has developed a sudden interest in the Armed Forces.
he is a high school student now and gradually with the raise in the grade he is studying, the activities in the cultural and co-curricular sector has also increased.
he is more into the school affairs and studying is his 2nd priority.

he has set an aim for himself that he has to enter the defence forces and has started working on it
chin2's father mr. kumar always had an appeal towards the defence forces, so it was a good news to him that his kid is interested in serving the nation.
chin2 belonged to a very patriotic family,
he was not from a family of freedom fighters but his family was patriotic in direct or indirect sense.
chin2s grandfather mr.somraj served the society by bringing education in the small area of his town, where he lived after migration from pakistan.
he gifted a huge school to the society named "guru high school" he layed the foundation stone of the building and served the institute throughout his life.
he also helped the people in his area to up-bring and educate themselves
he passed a useful message to the lower class of the society" how important education and literacy is"
as a result of this he gave several doctors, engineers, professors etc to the society.

mr somraj had 6 children 3boys and 3girls
even in the era of male dominance he educated his daughters and made them graduates inspite of the poor economical conditions of his house,he passed the message to the society that girls have the equal right to get educated one of his daughters followed his footprints and became a teacher
his eldest son mr ram always aspired to become a doctor but due to the financial conditions of their family that couldn't happen but still mr ram didn't get disappointed and sat at home
if not medicine he went for pharmacy and appeared for government service commissions and today he is the highest ranking officer in his department and his qualification

chin2s uncle that is mr.somraj's 3rd son succeeded in becoming a Doctor and is a specialist for children

mr somraj's 2nd son that is chin2s father was always a technical person he did his engineering from mumbai and acquired a job in TATA he would've got the most luxurious life there if he stayed there and pursued his job but no he decided to go back to his home town
and then there was an industrial revolution in akola(a small town then) maharashtra
the first STD-PCO was set by chin2s father in akola
this brought tremendous progress in business sector
all the products related to telecommunication were introduced by mr.kumar
electronic type-writers,photo-copiers,intercoms etc


so that is why i called chin2s family patriotic
grandfather-serving socially
father-serving technically
uncle1-serving legally
uncle2-serving medically

that is what is called patriotism-dedicating entire lives serving the society-the nation

and if that was not enough to justify them as patriotic then here is one more
even today on 15th august,26th January and 2nd October everyone sits and watches national tv programs ,republic day parades, flag hoisting and all
they celebrate these days together even today patriotic songs like मेरे देश की धरती , ए मेरे वतन के लोगों ,इत्यादि ..are played whole day in loud volume,the dishes co-relate to the event chin2 still remembers that once his aunt made tiranga rice on 26th jan... so thats how mr somraj's family tree is blossomed by 3 colors of the tiranga


chin2 is the next one to add to this he has started walking on the way to patriotism through entering the defence forces .........but
here is a twist......all the patriots in his family were against this except his father
no support to both of them
oooo.....seems a tough battle ahead for chin2 and his dad now
